Christopher Clark

Freelance writer and wanderer based in Cape Town, covering travel, conservation and current affairs across Africa

I write about people, places, conservation and current affairs for a number of local and international publications including Al Jazeera, CNN, The Times, Forbes Africa, Rough Guides, Business Day, Narratively, Travel Africa and The Big Issue. Despite my fishy English accent, I have twice been featured among South Africa’s best writers and thought leaders in The Big Issue‘s annual Collector’s Edition. I have been published in collections by Writers Abroad and Chicken Soup for the Soul. I am the primary content writer and blogger for Zambia Tourism and have worked on various Fodor’s guidebooks. I also write fiction and poetry. My fictional work has been published by Itch creative journal and Paris’ La Revue. I have been known to dabble in a spot of editing; I am a former General Editor at Urban Times and former second in command at Supernews. I am a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers, the International Food Wine and Travel Writers Association, the South African Freelancers’ Association (SAFREA) and the SafariBookings Expert Panel.
