Claire Buchan Parker

Claire Buchan Parker is a veteran spokeswoman with more than 25 years of experience at the highest levels of government and the private sector. She has expertise with complex public policy and communications issues with a focus on taxes, financial services and international trade. Claire has run public relations for two Fortune 500 companies and served in three Presidential Administrations. She is frequently quoted and has deep experience working with national media outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, as well as prominent radio and television outlets.

During her distinguished career, Claire has served as Deputy White House press secretary and principal economic spokeswoman to President George W. Bush. As Chief of Staff to U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez, Claire was responsible for strategic counseling, media relations, speechwriting, business outreach, and policy development.

Claire served Presidents Ronald Reagan and George H.W. Bush as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Public Affairs, Press Secretary to the U.S. Trade Representative and Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration.

Claire also has extensive corporate experience. She held executive positions at Constellation Energy where she was company spokeswoman and managed internal and external communications. For eight years, Claire led corporate communications for ServiceMaster, providing strategic counsel to company executives, spearheaded a rebranding and repositioning initiative, and managed crisis communications.

Earlier in her career, Claire worked on Capitol Hill navigating the intersection of media relations and the legislative process in senior communications roles. Claire received a B.A. in Business from Michigan State University with a major in marketing.
