Daniel Patterson is the assistant principal at Corona del Mar High School in Newport Beach, California.
Born and raised in Point Reyes Station, CA, Daniel graduated from Tomales High School in Tomales, CA. He subsequently attended Willamette University in Salem, OR, earning a BA in Rhetoric and Media Studies and a Masters degree in Education. Finally, he received his Administrative credential from UC Irvine, in Irvine CA.
Prior to school administration, Daniel spent 10 years in the classroom where he taught middle school and high school English, coached varsity tennis and was an ASB director.
In his current position, Daniel focuses on utilizing a proactive and hands-on approach to leadership. He seeks to upend traditional modes of communication and interventions to find lasting solutions for students and families in crisis. Where a typical secondary school simply issues consequences - Corona del Mar offers more effective alternatives. Daniel integrates a strong social media presence and sense of humor to offset the high pace and high stress aspects of his job, while building tangible and lasting relationships with the school community he serves.
Daniel lives in Orange County with his wife Caroline and their two young daughters.
