Author, <em>The Emotional Toolkit</em>

Darlene Mininni, PhD, MPH is the author of The Emotional Toolkit (St. Martins Press) and creator of the UCLA undergraduate wellbeing course, LifeSkills.

Dr. Darlene Mininni's work focuses on helping people answer the question: "How can I thrive?"

Using her background in clinical psychology, health promotion and media, she teaches, advises and designs interventions that highlight 3 key areas: emotional intelligence, resilience and mindfulness-based stress reduction.

With an interest in media’s power to inspire and enlighten, she founded and was artistic director of UCLA’s Kaleidoscope Theatre, a performance troupe that uses storytelling to positively transform lives. She also hosted The Emotional Toolkit Series on XM radio and The "Dr. Darlene Mininni" Show for Clear Channel in Los Angeles and was a contributor to Dr. Drew’s TV show "Lifechangers."

As a speaker, Dr. Mininni’s clients have ranged from The Juilliard School to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, and her advice has been featured on: CNN, PBS, NPR, Ladies Home Journal, SELF, Marie Claire, Woman’s Day and Prevention.

Dr. Mininni is on the advisory board for Girlmentum Media/ShimmerTeen and is a featured author for Mallika Chopra’s Intentblog. She is also an adjunct faculty member at California State University. Dr. Mininni has a PhD in Clinical Psychology and a Masters in Public Health.
