Born on a farm in Saskatchewan, David Code studied at Yale and worked as a freelance writer until the deaths of his gay brother from AIDS and his father from cancer. David has traveled to over 80 countries, including 35 with his wife and two children. He has also lived in Japan, Russia and France, and he speaks those languages.

David lives in Palo Alto with his wife of 18 years (who works at Stanford’s business school) and their two teenage kids.
