David Roche

David Roche is an inspirational humorist and author who has performed his signature one man show “The Church of 80% Sincerity” from New Zealand to Moscow, Australia to Wales, across Canada and most of the United States, including the (Clinton!) White House.

He is one of the pioneers in the field of disability culture who has been featured in a number of films, most recently “Shameless: the ART of Disability” directed by the legendary Bonnie Klein and produced by the National Film Board of Canada.

David’s first book, also titled “The Church of 80% Sincerity,” was published by Perigee, an imprint of Penguin, earlier this year.

He is President of the Board of Directors of KickstART: Society for Disability Arts and Culture in Vancouver, BC.

He currently is traveling and performing around the US and Canada. His favorite work, however, is “Love at Second Sight,” a program for students which he does with his wife, Marlena Blavin.
