Debbie Hines is a Washington, DC based trial attorney, former Baltimore prosecutor, member of the Supreme Court bar, legal and political analyst and speaker on criminal justice, high profile criminal cases, gun laws, death penalty and hot button legal/political issues on race and gender. As a former felony prosecutor, she tried homicides, attempted murders, rapes, burglaries, robberies, narcotics and economic crimes. Presently, she maintains a boutique law practice focused on civil and criminal litigation.

In 2009, Debbie launched Legalspeaks.com, a progressive blog, on law, politics, race and gender. As a social media expert, she frequently addresses issues online on criminal law, criminal justice, voting laws, politics and issues affecting women and minorities.

Debbie frequently appears in the media as a legal/poltical analyst and guest host on Al Jazeera America, BET News, C-Span, MSNBC, CCTV, PBS News, Sky News, Fox 5 DC and TV One among others. Hines is also contributor to the Women’s Media Center.

Hines’ opinion written works have appeared in the Washington Post, Baltimore Sun and Baltimore Afro American.

She earned a Juris Doctorate from George Washington University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania. She is a native of Baltimore, MD.
