Diane Salvatore

Diane Salvatore is the Editor-in-Chief of Prevention magazine, the #1 healthy lifestyle magazine brand in the world with an audience of more than 10.2 million. She is an award-winning magazine editor, brand strategist, book publisher, writer, and public speaker.

Before joining Rodale, Salvatore was Vice President and Publisher of Broadway Books; prior to that, she was the Editor-in-Chief of Ladies’ Home Journal from July 2002 to July 2008. Before that, Salvatore was the Director of Editorial Operations for the Hearst Magazine Division. She was Executive Director for Marie Claire (2001); Editor-in-Chief of YM (1998-2000), and has held posts at Good Housekeeping, Redbook, Glamour and Cosmopolitan. She has been a frequent guest on TODAY, Good Morning America and other national TV shows.

Salvatore is a Folio: 40, Industry Leaders with Impact winner (2005) and has won multiple awards including two Folio Edie Awards (silver in 2006, gold in 2007), an Association of Health Care Journalists Award (2009), the Mental Health America 2008 Media Award for National Magazines, a Front Page Award for excellence in journalism (2007), the American Society for Journalists and Authors Award and is 2008 recipient of the Athena Award from Columbia University and the Foundation for Gender-Specific Medicine. She was as ASME board member for the 2008/09 season and is a longtime ASME judge. She was on the MPA planning committee for two years for the American Magazine Conference

Salvatore holds an M.A. from New York University in English/Creative Writing and a B.A. from Penn State in Journalism. Several of her articles and short stories have been published in various national periodicals.
