Douglas L. McSwain has been a litigator, legal advisor, speaker, and writer in constitutional, health care, civil rights, employment, business, and equine law for more than 25 years. Doug has been named and peer-reviewed as a “Best Lawyer in America,” “Kentucky Super Lawyer” and "Top Rated Lawyer" in civil rights law and first amendment issues, health care law, labor, employment, municipal and appellate litigation. He is an experienced trial lawyer in all courts, with unique involvement with the federal courts as longstanding Chair of the Joint Local Rules Commission for the Eastern & Western Federal District Courts of Kentucky and Life Member of the 6th Circuit Judicial Conference. Doug has also served as General Counsel to a national trade association of owners and trainers of thoroughbred racehorses and served as a Bar Governor of the Kentucky Bar Association, President of the Kentucky Bar Foundation, and Chair of the Kentucky Bar Association’s House of Delegates. He is a partner at the law firm of Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP, in Lexington, Kentucky, and is an active leader of the Kentucky Lawyer Chapter of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy.
