Dr. Tom Russell

Thomas D. Russell is a professor of law at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where he teaches torts, contracts and American legal history. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Northwestern University and earned a master’s degree, law degree and Ph.D. in history at Stanford University. In addition to teaching, he remains an active historian with a special interest in the role race has played in law. He has written extensively about the history of university desegregation and the law’s role in the practical application of slavery. Before coming to the University of Denver, he was a tenured professor of law at the University of Texas. He is also a practicing personal injury attorney. His website is at www.houseofrussell.com
