E.V. Day

E.V. Day is an artist known for her suspended installations and sculptures, which challenge stereotypes of female roles with exuberance and emotion. Ascending Divas is a series of 14 suspended sculptures made with costumes from the New York City Opera’s archives. They were first exhibited in the Promenade of the David H. Koch Theater in Lincoln Center for the 2010 season of the New York City Opera, and are now traveling to the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts in Louisville, KY, where they will be shown from April until November 2011.
