Henderson Lafond

Wife, Mom, Dreamer, lover of all things Clemson, founder of Madison's Closet.

My name is Henderson and I’m a wife, a mom, and a dreamer. I am a Carolina girl who was born, raised and still lives in North Carolina! I am a huge college football fan and you won’t find me far from the TV on Saturdays in the Fall always cheering for my alma mater – the Clemson Tigers. I started Madison’s Closet on April 2, 2016 in memory of my daughter Madison Reid who was born asleep on October 17, 2015. When you lose a child, a part of your confidence and self-esteem is lost too. I hated my body for not providing my daughter safe passage into this world. With only maternity or frumpy clothes to wear I felt even worse about myself. I didn’t want to go out or be seen in public – by anyone. Losing a child is very isolating, this makes it even more so. Our mission is to provide comfort and support to moms who share this path by providing complimentary clothing to help them reclaim their self confidence. We received donated clothing from women all across the country, who give hoping their gift will help a mom who needs it. Clothing may seem like a very shallow need following the loss of a child. The truth is, an outfit that feels good and fits well can make all the difference to a woman whose confidence has been shattered. I am blessed to wake up everyday and do work that I love, and raise an amazing little boy with the best man I know by my side.
