Ivonne Díaz-Claisse

Dr. Ivonne Díaz-Claisse is an educational consultant and the founder of the consulting firm ID Educational Solutions. Her expertise includes three different roles within the educational arena: as a consultant, assisting teachers to identify bilingual educational resources and developing solutions to address the specific needs of the Latino students; as an instructor, providing teachers and parents with professional development workshops in the area of Education, Multicultural Awareness and Mathematics; and as a visiting professor, stepping into the classroom to provide inspirational workshops in the area of Mathematics to students of all ages, showcasing her personal story and emphasizing the importance of Mathematics via real life examples.

Dr. Díaz-Claisse is also the President and founder of HISPA, Hispanics Inspiring Students’ Performance and Achievement. HISPA is a non-profit 501(c)(3) dedicated to proactively encouraging students’ success by recruiting, supporting and coordinating Latino professionals’ participation in educational programs in the communities where they live and work. The main objective is to expose students to a diverse group of professional role models who, through their stories, will inspire them to pursue higher education. As a HISPA Role Model, she has been sharing her own educational and career experiences, speaking to more than 3,000 students in the last three years.

Dr. Díaz-Claisse’s professional background includes a 10-year career with AT&T Labs as an Operations Research Analyst supporting network capacity planning initiatives by providing expertise in data analysis, optimization and forecasting. Her educational background includes a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Puerto Rico; a Masters in Engineering in Operations Research from Cornell University; a Masters in Mathematics from the University of Maryland; and a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Arizona State University. Dr. Díaz-Claisse is a resident of Freehold, NJ.
