James E. Groves, MD, is a psychiatrist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Associate Clinical Professor at the Harvard Medical School. He has published in the New England Journal of Medicine and the psychiatric literature on the doctor-patient relationship and the impact of personality disorders on health care. More recently he has been collaborating in a series of research projects studying the influence of the Internet on medicine and psychiatry. He practices psychotherapy and teaches and supervises Massachusetts General Psychiatry residents in the psychodynamic therapies. He offers elective courses and tutorials to medical trainees on Evolutionary Psychology and on Literature & Psychiatry (ShakespeareReadsFreud.com). He lives in Boston with his family.
