Chef Jason Rivas graduated from the Culinary Institute in 1999 and has over 15 years of experience in the industry, working primarily in resorts in both Southern California and Arizona. He is a three-time "Best Chefs of the Inland Empire" award-winner, four-time culinary scholarship winner from the American Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF), and earned two certifications from the American Culinary Federation (ACF). He is also a Level 1 Sommelier. Chef Jason made his television debut in Season 18 of Chopped on The Food Network. He is currently the Chef de Cuisine at E.A.T. Marketplace in Temecula. In his free time he creates private dining experiences and consults on local menus through “dinner by JR.” He also writes the weekly column "The Chef!" for LatinoTimes.com, where he brings readers behind the scenes of a professional kitchen to learn the inner workings and insight that goes into making great food.
