Public Sector Technologist [Ex: Socrata, World Bank, Council on Foreign Relations]

Jeff Kaplan has for years been a high-profile expert in global Open Data and public sector innovation. Mostly recently, he has been Director of Multilateral & Non-Profits at Socrata, a data technology company focused on the public sector. Prior to Socrata, Jeff was a Senior ICT Advisor with the World Bank leading groundbreaking Open Data work with countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe – and notably was one of the two co-creators of the widely used Open Data Readiness Assessment tool of the World Bank. Kaplan received a B.A. in History from Yale University. He then completed his J.D. at Harvard Law School.
