Jeremy Chwat

Can't live without The 'Mats, Gaslight Anthem, & some good angst in my music. Father of two. Supporter of sucky teams. ED for AFNatal.

Jeremy Chwat has spent the entirety of his career working to better the lives of American wounded warriors and disabled veterans. Now, he is taking the skills and passions he has honed as a founder and former Chief Program Officer and Chief Strategy officer at Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP), to assist Israel's wounded warriors as well as all Israeli's impacted by trauma and terror through NATAL- Israel’s Trauma Center for Victims of Terror and War. Jeremy began his tenure at WWWP as the organization's executive vice president of policy and legislation. He played a leading role in the effort to pass the Traumatic Servicemembers Group Life Insurance (TSGLI) legislation, which provides insurance benefits to wounded members of our armed forces. Jeremy was also instrumental in WWP’s advocacy for enactment and implementation of the Family Caregiver Program of the Caregivers and Veterans Omnibus Health Services Act 2010. As chief strategy officer (CSO) for WWP, he oversaw the organization’s strategy and innovation, government relations, communications, and partnerships and investments. Prior to serving as CSO he spent years as WWP's chief programs officer (CPO), overseeing WWP programs and services across four pillars — engagement, mind, body, and economic empowerment. Before joining WWP, Jeremy was director of public policy for the United Spinal Association, a national disability and veterans service organization that represents persons with spinal cord injuries. During his tenure there, Jeremy helped establish a number of significant changes in the delivery of services by the Department of Veterans Affairs and its healthcare system. Jeremy is a die-hard Mets, Jets and Islanders fan who remains hopeful that at least one of his teams will win another championship in his lifetime.
