Former candidate, Ret. Marine Corps fighter pilot
John Flerlage ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado's 6th District in 2010. A Littleton resident, John served 22 years in the Marine Corps before retiring from the Marine Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2000. His reserve years were highlighted by volunteer duty flying air support missions in Bosnia in the F/A-18 Hornet. John also served in various Squadron and Group level leadership and staff positions, in addition to teaching classes in world affairs, strategic commitments, and the operation of fighters and other tactical aircraft at the Marine aviation advanced tactics school at Marine Corps Air Station Yuma. Since his retirement, John has been a commercial airline pilot, flying international routes for the world’s largest airline as a member of the Air Line Pilots Association. He has been active in his community and politics for more than 10 years.
