Joseph Braude

Middle East specialist

JOSEPH BRAUDE studied Near Eastern languages at Yale and Arabic and Islamic history at Princeton. Fluent in Arabic, Persian, and Hebrew, he broadcasts in Arabic and English and contributes to print and TV media, including The American Interest, Foreign Policy, The Atlantic, Al-Majalla, and Asharq Alawsat. He is the author, most recently, of The Honored Dead: A Story of Friendship, Murder, and the Search for Truth in the Arab World. As a Middle East specialist, Joseph Braude is Advisor at the Al-Mesbar Center for Studies and Research, and Senior Fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute.
