Joseph Peri

President, Junior Achievement of New York

Joseph A. Peri was appointed President of Junior Achievement of New York in March 2010. Mr. Peri serves as the organization’s chief executive officer. 

Junior Achievement of New York’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. For more than 80 years, Junior Achievement of New York (JA New York) has delivered economic education and empowerment programs to New York City and Long Island students. Through a dedicated network of corporate and community volunteers, JA New York provides high-quality K‐12 in‐school, after‐school, and workplace-based educational programs. JA educational programs focus on three key content areas: financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and college/career readiness. Mr. Peri’s career experience spans both the non-profit and the corporate sectors. He joined JA New York after serving as Acting President and CEO of the Council for Economic Education (CEE), a leading national economic and financial education organization. Prior to that, he had been Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since 2000, having originally joined CEE in November 1995 as Vice President for Finance.

Prior to joining CEE, Mr. Peri was Assistant Vice President for Finance at The Commonwealth Fund, a large private, grant-making foundation located in New York, where he spent 12 years in a series of financial, administrative and program management roles. Mr. Peri began his professional career with the firm of Deloitte Haskins and Sells (now Deloitte). He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Financial Planner®, and graduated cum laude from Fordham University.
