Trans man, theatre historian

As an actor, Cole has appeared at downtown NYC venues including Dixon Place, University Settlement, and HERE Arts Center. He has played leading transmen in films which have toured festivals internationally, and he has been a guest on radio and podcasts. His publications include essays in the anthologies 'Trans Forming Families', 'Beyond Masculinity', and 'Visible: A Femmethology'. He has been featured in 'Bust', 'Autostraddle', 'Out Magazine', 'Original Plumbing', 'The Daily Beast', 'Time Out New York', 'London Metro', and Jacob Anderson-Minshall's syndicated column: 'Trans Nation'. Cole's scholarly work focuses on transmen's theatre performance and trans representations in dramatic literature. Before relocating from NYC to Burlington, Vermont, Cole taught in the Department of Speech, Communication, and Theatre Arts at CUNY, BMCC.
