Julie Cox

Mom, Stepmom , English teacher, grocery shopper, nerd

Julie spends her days teaching high schoolers the joys of Shakespeare, disproving the stereotype of the evil stepmother, and attempting yet failing to keep up with her three busy boys. Her favorite activities in the world are putting on sweatpants on a Friday afternoon, cooking for a crowd, and reading science fiction. Julie is also co-author and columnist with her stepson's mom, Katie Nemer. Together the mom/stepmom duo share their journey learning to Co-parent successfully (and sometimes not so much!) who unexpectedly become friends in the process on their website www.adventuresincoparenting.com. They claim like most Co-parents to occasionally "drive each other nuts" which is why they naturally "have decided to write a column together".

Co-parents Katie and Julie's "humorous lively and relatable" (reader, fan) publications have been featured in The Times Union, The Huffington Post, as well as quarterly in a Saratoga Springs NY based parenting magazine. Their motto- "Co-parenting isn't easy, but loving your kids is".

Read their story and keep up with their Huffington Post Blended Family blog to share in the many laughs and tears as they candidly open up about what it's really like to share a child with "the other woman."
