Kalinda Woods, MD, FACOG is a practicing physician and Assistant Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Dr. Woods has specific interests in adolescent gynecology and education of women and girls in matters of reproductive health and well-being. Born in Baltimore, MD, and raised in the Baltimore suburbs as well as overseas outside of Tokyo, Japan, Dr. Woods has a particular love for international travel and learning about new cultures, particularly as impacted by medicine and women's health around the world. She is a graduate of The Seton Keough High School in Baltimore, and Howard University, where she double majored in Biology and Chemistry earning a Bachelor of Science degree in 2000. She is a proud graduate of Meharry Medical College, earning the MD degree with Dean's Honors in 2004. Dr. Woods went on to complete her residency in Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Maryland in Baltimore and was selected Administrative Chief Resident in 2008. Since completing her medical training, Dr. Woods has worked in various settings including community health as a National Health Service Corps Scholar, as well in private practice and has found her way back to academic medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians Gynecologists and has published numerous essays on patient perception and physician/ patient relationships in the American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Woods considers her greatest accomplishment to be her two happy children who manage to use good manners and eat all of their food most of the time. She resides in Atlanta with her medical school sweetheart turned husband Kevin, a gastroenterologist, and the aforementioned children Maya and Julian.
