Research associate, Center for American Progress Action Fund's Half in Ten Campaign

Katie Wright is a Research Associate with the Half in Ten campaign at the Center for American Progress Action Fund. In this capacity, Katie works to build the political and public will to cut the U.S. poverty rate in half in 10 years. Katie conducts policy research and advocacy on poverty and economic security issues, organizes antipoverty advocates nationwide, and creates and deploys innovative campaign products to further the Half in Ten agenda.

Prior to her role at Half in Ten, Katie worked as a public interest fellow and consultant for the Corporation for Enterprise Development. At CFED, Katie expanded economic opportunity to low-income families and children by advancing state-level policies and programmatic initiatives that promoted asset-building. Katie’s work has been published in several print and online media outlets including The Nation, ThinkProgress, Catholics in Alliance, and several Spanish language publications.

Katie is a 2011-2012 participant in WeLEAD, a selective leadership development program for women pursuing careers in policy or politics. She graduated magna cum laude from Northwestern University with a B.S. in social policy.
