Kathleen Pasley

Kathleen has a work life that encompasses numerous areas of endeavor: writing, fund raising, marketing and communications, and the field of spiritual healing. Coming out of the executive ranks of the corporate world, she moved into the not-for-profit arena to follow her desire to raise money for organizations she believed in. Kathleen has worked for a variety of worthy causes – from women in leadership to mental health for children, from medical associations to science museums.

Someone who has known serious depressive episodes first-hand, Kathleen wrote the book A Hurt in Your Soul and How to Heal It: Avoiding The Ten Mind Traps of Depression and also writes a weekly blog that communicates openly about depression and spirituality. She has been interviewed on numerous radio shows as well as appearing on NBC News in Washington, DC to talk about depression and anxiety.

Kathleen has years of experience in using spiritual tools as well as medical ones to manage her own disease and hopes to share her findings -- both successes and failures -- with some of the millions of people who suffer with mental illness.

A long time seeker, her overriding passion is in pursuing and living a spiritual path. She also is committed to eliminating the stigma around mental illness by openly communicating about how depression and anxiety have played a major role in her own life journey.

In addition to her writing and other pursuits, Kathleen manages the career of Edemir Rossi, renowned Brazilian spiritual healer and teacher. She has worked with Edemir for 22 years to promote his great healing gift. Part of her work with Edemir is to develop retreats that focus on those who are interested in international travel, the healing path, and ways to access their spiritual side.

Kathleen's avocation for many years has been to empower each human spirit to “reach for the stars” in terms of his or her highest potential and to do so at every age and stage of life. She believes that there is a great need for people to tap into a “practical spirituality” – one that leads to more productive, healthy, happy and balanced living and that acknowledges the strength of each person to overcome difficulties and challenges as they move through life.

She is a graduate of Manhattanville College where she majored in English Literature. She holds an M.B.A. with a concentration in Marketing from Boston University and lives in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
