Kiersten Downs is a veteran of the United States Air Force and served for seven years in the Air Force and New York Air National Guard. After leaving active duty in 2005, she earned a bachelor of arts in political science from Binghamton University and is now a doctoral student in applied anthropology at the University of South Florida. She is the former president of USF’s chapter of Student Veterans of America and currently serves on the national student council for SVA.
