Kourosh Ziabari

MA International Multimedia Journalism student, University of Kent, FCO Chevening Scholar Iran 2016/17

Kourosh Ziabari is studying a master's degree in International Multimedia Journalism at the University of Kent's Centre for Journalism. He is a 2016/17 Chevening Scholar from Iran. A journalist and reporter, he has won three awards in Iran's National Press Festival. Kourosh has conducted interviews with politicians, government officials, diplomats, Nobel Prize laureates, academicians and other public figures from different countries. He is the recipient of the Senior Journalists Seminar 2015 Fellowship from the East-West Center in Hawii. In November 2015, he won the Gabriel Garcia Marquez Fellowship in Cultural Journalism by the FNPI foundation in Cartagena, Colombia. He has covered the Global Media Forum 2015 for the Orange Magazine on a joint fellowship program by the Deutsche Welle and European Youth Press. He was the first Iranian delegate at the American Middle Eastern Network for Dialog at Stanford (AMENDS), addressing its 2016 edition. He writes and reports for Fair Observer on Iran's foreign and domestic politics, culture, arts, society, as well as international affairs. In 2009, Kourosh was selected as the MENA region's representative to the International Student Energy Summit 2009 in Calgary, Canada.
