Author, 'God of Earth: Discovering a Radically Ecological Christianity,' 'Tell Mister Lincoln,' 'Bible Babel: Making Sense of the Most Talked About Book of All Time'

Dr. Kristin M. Swenson, Ph.D. is a fellow at the Virginia Foundation for the Humanities and associate professor of religious studies (affiliate) at Virginia Commonwealth University. She is the author of God of Earth: Discovering a Radically Ecological Christianity, an award-winning screenplay "Tell Mister Lincoln," Bible Babel: Making Sense of the Most Talked About Book of All Time (Harper Perennial, 2011) and of Living through Pain: Psalms and the Search for Wholeness (Baylor University Press, 2005). She co-authored a book about the academic study of religion and has translated Hebrew Bible books for the multi-volume, multi-media project The Voice. Besides academic publications and presentations, Swenson has written for The Christian Century, Publishers Weekly, and a variety of news outlets. Her creative nonfiction God of Earth is due out Fall, 2016. She is presently working a book about the Bible for Oxford University Press and a novel, tool. Her website is www.kristinswenson.com.
