Kristin Prior

Wife, Mother, Advocate and Caregiver

Kristin began experiencing easy bruising and frequent nosebleeds as a child. Her symptoms lasted through her teens, and her physician was unable to diagnose the continuous bleeding.

In 1995, at age 32, Kristin gave birth to her son, Lynden, who was promptly diagnosed with Type 1 VWD. Kristin was tested following his diagnosis and was confirmed as the carrier of the Type 1 VWD gene.

Since her diagnosis, Kristin treats her symptoms on-demand with Humate-P. She has had some joint bleeds, but her symptoms are limited to a few times per year. Kristin is able to enjoy everyday activities and sports with her family.
