Lawrence Williams

Lawrence Williams is the Chairman of the United States Healthful Food Council (USHFC), a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to improving the health of Americans by providing incentives, programs and tools to restaurants and foodservice operators. Recognizing the link between dietary practices and numerous chronic diseases, as well as the growing percentage of calories consumed away from home, the USHFC recently launched its Responsible Epicurean and Agricultural Leadership (REAL™) certification program to recognize restaurants and foodservice operators for the use of nutrition and sustainable best practices.

Lawrence is an entrepreneur who has spent his career working with governments to develop public-private partnership solutions to some of the world’s most vexing problems. Most recently, Lawrence worked with Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) and NASA to develop a domestic commercial crew and cargo program to replace the Space Shuttle. Prior to SpaceX, he assisted wireless pioneer Craig McCaw, the FCC, and the International Telecommunications Union (ITU) to make broadband access ubiquitous through the use of low-Earth orbiting satellites. Lawrence’s government experience includes the White House Office of Public Liaison, the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. House of Representatives.

Lawrence received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) with honors from Georgetown University. He is a three-time Ironman triathlete that is passionate about the importance of nutrition, exercise and health.
