Lisa Meadowcroft has been working on international relief and development and social justice issues for more than 20 years. Since January 2003 she has been the Executive Director of the African Medical and Research Foundation’s American affiliate. AMREF, winner of the Gates Award for Global Health and the Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize, is the largest African health NGO and focuses its programs on women and children. Prior to AMREF she worked for the International Rescue Committee. AMREF is a member of the steering committee of the Frontline Health Workers Coalition.
