Lorena Sarbu

Eveningwear Designer

Born in Timisoara, Romania, Lorena Sarbu discovered her passion for fashion design at a very young age. Fascinated by the textures and colors of fabrics, Lorena would create wardrobes for her dolls out of her mother’s clothing. Although her love for fashion remained strong, the opportunity for design in Romania was limited. Lorena opted to study psychology at university all the while keeping her dream alive of a career in fashion. Coming from a family with a stellar educational background Lorena credits her family for her strong work ethic. Lorena worked hard academically and graduated early.

Her childhood dream of pursuing a career in fashion was later realized when she moved to the United States to attend the International Academy of Design & Technology in Chicago. While studying business
and design, Lorena worked on designing her own creations that would eventually become her signature collection. She later continued her studies at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.

Encouraged to follow her true passion, Lorena launched her elegant eveningwear collection in 2009 and opened her New York showroom in early 2010. “I really knew from the beginning what I wanted to do: have my own business and create my own line,” Lorena says. “I was always determined to create this future for myself and it has been a dream-come-true.”

As a contemporary woman with impeccable style, Lorena infuses her glamorous and European-inspired personal style into each of her beautifully timeless creations. With an eye for exquisite detail, Lorena combines sumptuous fabrics, unique textures and intricate embellishments to create distinctively stunning designs for the modern woman.

Lorena Sarbu has already garnered a following in Hollywood, bringing style and glamour to the red-carpet with her unique couture designs. Lorena Sarbu is sold at prestigious retailers throughout North America, including Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Hugo Nicholson and Hirshleifer’s, as well as high-profile specialty stores across the continent.
