Lynn Grefe

President & CEO, National Eating Disorders Association

Lynn Grefe has served as president and CEO of the National Eating Disorders Association (NEDA) since 2003. In that role, she has led the creation and expansion of innovative and ground-breaking programs to meet the needs of the 30 million people and their families who will suffer from an eating disorder at some point in their life.

A published author in the field and NEDA’s spokesperson, she frequently appears on television and in print, both nationally and in virtually every major market across the country.

Grefe’s career has long centered on issues, advocacy and solutions. She has worked for state government in the criminal justice system; the private sector for a variety of corporate and non-profit clients on legislative and policy issues; and in the non-profit political arena for women’s reproductive health issues.

Grefe is a member of the Academy for Eating Disorders, the National Institute of Mental Health Alliance and is the leader of the NEDA Network of 23 eating disorder non-profits around the nation. She serves on the Advisory Council of the Mental Health Foundation, which honored her in 2011. In 2014, Grefe was also honored by Women’s E-News as one of the 21 Leaders for the 21st Century.
