Maria Cuomo Cole

Maria Cuomo Cole is an executive producer of The Invisible War, a groundbreaking investigative documentary about the epidemic of rape and sexual violence in the U.S. military. The film won the 2012 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award was released theatrically in June. Throughout her career in the public and private sectors, Maria Cuomo Cole has produced and directed short films, public service announcements and digital content to raise awareness for a variety of social issues. Her documentary, Living for 32, premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and was short listed for Academy nomination. The film, which addresses the issue of gun safety laws in America, aired on Showtime and is distributed by BBC Worldwide. It will be released digitally this winter. Current film projects in development include reflections by prominent Americans on their personal mentors, and stories of the United States National Congressional Medal of Honor Recipients. Maria Cuomo Cole serves as Chairman of HELP USA, the leading national developer of housing for homeless and low income populations including families, victims of domestic violence, and veterans. She serves as a director on the boards of Mentoring USA, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, and HELP PSI. She is a member of the Democratic National Committee and the Mayor's Task Force to Combat Domestic Violence of New York City, and has been honored for her professional and personal contributions to under-served communities by Women in Communications/Matrix Award, The American Red Cross, The National Alliance to End Homelessness, and The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.
