Hainds received a BS in Forestry Resource Management from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an MS in Forest Biology from Auburn University. He has been a research coordinator for the Longleaf Alliance since June 1995. A senior research associate for Auburn University. He blogs regularly at Democrats.org and BarackObama.com. He is a lifelong hunter, fisher, and trapper, with a passionate interest in longleaf pine and native groundcover restoration.
