Mark Shrime is a Clinical Instructor in Otolaryngology at Harvard Medical School and Associate Faculty at Ariadne Labs, a joint center for innovative health systems research at the Harvard School of Public Health and the Brigham and Women's Hospital. He also serves as attending faculty at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, serves on the Finance and Economics Working Group for the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery, has a research appointment at the Harvard School of Public Health, and is a member of the Medical Review Board for Mercy Ships. His research focuses on the development of policies and platforms for the delivery of surgery in low-income countries, with a specific interest in the intersection of health benefits and the risk of impoverishment.
