Marlaina Schiavo
TV Producer, Comedian and Commentator

A TV Producer, Comedian and Writer... Marlaina Schiavo seems to have done it all.

As a former Senior Producer for HLN, Marlaina spent seven years working in the field, newsroom, and control room under the deadline of a daily live show. She began her media career in 1998 at CNN, followed by a stint at Fox News and Court TV. During her tenure at HLN, Marlaina spent time in front of the camera as well. She delivered live on-air reporting for breaking news stories on both daytime and primetime shows across the network.

In 2012, Marlaina branched out on her own to work on a variety of shows and projects. Some of which include: Liberty Treehouse at The Blaze; Larry King Now on Ora TV for its 2012 election coverage and Al Gore’s 24 Hours of Reality for the Climate Reality Project.

Always having a love of comedy and reality TV, Marlaina lived in Los Angeles very early on, where she cut her teeth as an intern at The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and MTV’s Road Rules. Then in 2011, Marlaina’s career came full circle. Combining her extensive media experience and her innate passion for comedy, she competed in a stand-up competition to raise money for the Humane Society of NY. She delivered a routine that won her the title as NY’s Funniest Reporter. In 2012, Marlaina wrote, created and hosted a pilot called Reality Check that was featured on Logo’s web platform NewNowNext.com. In this, Marlaina dishes out her take on the world of reality TV with every ounce of her biting honesty and undying sarcasm. She currently performs in comedy clubs around NYC and writes a blog - NY Momic.

Marlaina graduated from Ithaca College, grew up in New Jersey, and claims that there is more to the Jersey shore than fist pumping. She currently resides in New York City with her husband and daughter.
