Mary Lou Quinlan

Mary Lou Quinlan is a writer, speaker and a national expert on marketing and communicating with women. She has written inspirational features for Real Simple, O, the Oprah Magazine, and MORE, among other national magazines and is the author of four books, including her upcoming memoir The God Box, Sharing My Mother’s Gift of Faith, Love and Letting Go (to be released by Greenleaf Books, April 2012). Her earlier books included Just Ask a Woman, Time Off for Good Behavior, and What She’s Not Telling You.
She’s the founder and CEO of the marketing consultancy Just Ask a Woman, and has interviewed thousands of American women about how they think and what they buy. She has headlined hundreds of conferences around the country with her provocative take on women’s consumer behavior. Quinlan has appeared on television programs such as “ The EARLY Show” on CBS, “Good Morning America,” and NBC’s “Today,” and has been profiled in numerous media outlets including The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. She holds an MBA from Fordham University and received an honorary doctorate in communications from her alma mater, Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia, where she also has a BA in English. Quinlan and her husband, Joe live in New York City and Bucks County, Pennsylvania, with their dog, Rocky.
