Maz designed and developed Catapult as a way to help address the huge global problem of gender inequality.

Maz first worked as a musician, songwriter and synthesist in New York’s downtown music scene at the center of the digital music revolution. In the ’90s, she joined Microsoft’s Social Interface Group, going on to co-found FunArts Software in San Francisco. FunArts helped pioneer socially intelligent and voice user interfaces. In 2002, Maz helped to found Keep a Child Alive, an HIV/AIDS foundation focusing on families and children, then joined Advocacy International as Creative Director. Maz has worked with Women Deliver since 2007.
