Mohamed Elmenshawy is Washington Bureau Chief for Alaraby Television. From 2010-2014 he worked as a resident scholar at the Middle East Institute in Washington, DC. He also writes weekly auricle for Egyptian Daily Al Shoruok. Elmenshawy specialized in issues of politics and Islam, US foreign policy and Middle East Politics. He recently testifies before the House Committee on Homeland Security's Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence, where he addresses the current state of Egypt, the situation in the Sinai Peninsula, its potential to affect American national security interests, and what the United States can do to help the Egyptians meet the challenges they confront. In August 2009, he was selected to join the U.N. Secretary General's High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations initiative, as part of its Rapid Response Media Mechanism.
