Their much-anticipated Wines of the Southern Hemisphere: The Complete Guide (Sterling, Barnes and Noble Publishing) is scheduled for release on October 2, 2012 and has a foreword by international wine consultant Michel Rolland. They are the authors of the Port Wine chapter in Kevin Zraly’s book, The Ultimate Wine Companion: The Complete Guide to Understanding Wine By the World’s Foremost Wine Authorities, and also wrote the South Africa Whiskey chapter in Barrels and Drams. They have hosted many private client wine tastings and dinners, including those at the Spanish Ambassador’s residence in Washington, D.C. and have taught at Kevin Zraly’s Windows on the World Wine Course.

The duo has judged the prestigious wine competition, Concours des Vins in Chablis, France, and cooking competitions at the French Culinary Institute in NYC. Mike and Jeff were inducted into the Confrerie des Piliers Chablisiens in 2010. They are members of the International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association, The Society of Wine Educators and The James Beard Foundation. The duo writes a monthly column for Wine Enthusiast Magazine as well as frequent feature articles. In addition to their monthly print column -- Life Of The Party -- they now host home entertaining videos called A Wine Affair for the magazine’s website. Mike and Jeff were the first guests to pair wine and food on Martha Stewart’s Hallmark Channel Show and were featured guests on Martha Stewart Living Radio. In addition, they have appeared on numerous national and local television programs including CBS News. Clips can be seen on their own website www.worldwineguys.com and Wine Enthusiast’s www.winemag.com.

They have visited most of the world’s wine regions, including Spain’s La Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Penedes, Castilla y Leon, La Mancha, Rueda, Jerez, D.O. Malaga, Toro and Cigales. In France, they have toured Burgundy, Chablis, Provence, Bordeaux, Sud-Ouest, Alsace, Loire Valley and Champagne. Among the regions visited in Italy are Tuscany, Chianti, Sicily and Friuli. Their travels have also brought them to Tokaj and Eger in Hungary, as well as wine-growing areas in Argentina, Chile, Australia, Brazil, Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Uruguay, Germany, Turkey, Greece, South Africa, Morocco, New Zealand and lesser-known wine regions in South America, Oceania, Africa, North America, Europe and Asia. Closer to home, they have been to Long Island’s North Fork, NY’s Hudson Valley, Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, Paso Robles and Napa and Sonoma Valleys in California. Mike and Jeff have visited many of the rum, whiskey, grappa, tequila, brandy and vodka producing regions of the world. Their hobbies include chasing the harvest wherever grapes are grown and dinners with chefs, family and friends and winemakers. Having visited six continents, their goal is to be the first journalists to board an icebreaking boat as soon as ice wine is produced in Antarctica.
