Mike Laughlin is a staff writer and photographer at Mile High Hoops (www.milehighhoops.com). Prior to moving to Fort Collins last year, he worked for a chain of newspapers in South Carolina, including The Fort Mill Times and The York Enquirer-Herald.
Mike graduated from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina in 2007. There, he covered the basketball team for the student newspaper and realized his true passion for the sport. He received his B.A. in art photography with a minor in journalism.
In 2007, the South Carolina Press Association awarded Mike first place in the Sports Action Photo category in the 2-3 Times Weekly Division.
