Mike Thompson

Mike Thompson is the Acting President of GLAAD, the nation’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) media advocacy and anti-defamation organization. With nearly 14 years of nonprofit leadership experience, Mike has made a career of building dynamic organizations and efficient teams focused on mission-driven initiatives. As a nonprofit consultant, Thompson worked in partnership with key stakeholders and organizations across Colorado to establish One Colorado, One Colorado Education Fund, and One Colorado PAC. Thompson also served as Executive Director of Equality Utah. In 2008 he led Equality Utah's nationally recognized "Common Ground Initiative." This inspired work laid the foundation for 2010, during which 10 Utah municipalities passed fully inclusive housing and employment ordinances that provide protections for LGBT residents of Utah.
