Morgan Jindrich
Manager, Events and Outreach, External Relations

Currently, Morgan Jindrich Baum serves as Events and Outreach Manager of the Consumers Union External Relations team. Her primary responsibilities include convening meetings with governmental, nonprofit and industry leaders around the country, as well as public outreach around the many strategic goals of Consumers Union.

Morgan joined the Consumers Union team in the fall of 2004 as the Strategic Resource Director (better known as the Director of where she managed a project dedicated to helping to educate the public about the communications and media issues and helping to empower the public to make a difference in the marketplace.

In the summer of 2006 Morgan joined the Online Advocacy Outreach Team in Austin, TX and later in 2007 transitioned to the Advanced Activist Development team. Morgan’s primary responsibilities included managing the organizational-wide Share Your Story Program; coordinating the Consumers Union Activist Summit, and developing consumer activist initiatives.

Morgan previously worked for the Center for Public Integrity as a writer and researcher. Her primary responsibilities were to investigate the telecommunication and media industry as well as the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

During her tenure at the Center for Public Integrity she built a database of industry-sponsored travel by FCC officials which led to Congressional legislation banning industry-sponsored travel at the FCC. The report later won the 2003 Online News Association and the USC Annenberg School for Communication Online Journalism Awards in the area of Enterprise Journalism (Independent). The report was also a 2003 Finalist for the Investigative Reporters and Editors Other Media: Online Award. Ms. Jindrich also participated as a researcher on various books, The Water Barons; Harmful Error: Investigating America's Local Prosecutors; The Corruption Notebooks: 25 Investigative Journalists Report on Abuses of Power in Their Home Country; Making a Killing: The Business of War; and The Buying of the President 2004: Who's Really Bankrolling Bush and His Democratic Challengers – and What They Expect in Return.

Morgan is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. Where she double majored in political science and Spanish and received a minor in art. In 2005 she was nominated and bestowed the honor of being selected a successful alumnus for her graduation year, the University highlighted one student from each of the last ten years as successful alumni in their promotion and recruitment materials.
