Nandita Murukutla, Ph.D.

Nandita Murukutla oversees research and evaluations globally at World Lung Foundation. Since joining the organization in 2009, she has been responsible for standardizing and implementing a best practice evaluation methodology for mass media campaigns that is actionable and modular. Under Dr. Murukutla’s direction, WLF has evaluated or provided technical assistance to more than 80 campaigns 20 countries. She also manages WLF’s global research program and the day-to-day communications program in India.

Prior to joining WLF, Dr. Murukutla worked in Healthcare and Public Policy Research at Harris Interactive in New York City. She designed, conducted and reported on medical and health surveys on topics including the measurement of disease burden among chronically ill patients; work disability and productivity lost due to health; health care services utilization and costs of disease; evaluation of health education programs; health system performance.

Dr. Murukutla has co-authored papers in peer-review journals including Tobacco Control, Health Affairs, Health and Quality of Life Outcomes and Journal of the American Dental Association. She has presented at numerous international health and medical conferences.
Dr. Murukutla has a PhD in Social Psychology from Yale University. She recently relocated from New York City to New Delhi.
