Deputy Managing Director, IMF
Naoyuki Shinohara is Deputy Managing Director of the IMF. He was previously Japan’s Vice-Minister of Finance for International Affairs, a position he held from July 2007 until joining the IMF. He has also held various senior positions at Japan’s Ministry of Finance, including Director-General of the International Bureau, and served as Japan’s Executive Director at the Asian Development Bank during 1998-2001. He was an Associate at the Center for International Affairs at Harvard University in 1986 and a Visiting Professor at Saitama National University in the early 1990s.
