Nathan Hegedus

Hegedus is a contributor at Quartz and his work on paternity leave, fatherhood and Sweden has appeared most recently in Slate, Salon, The Morning News and the Christian Science Monitor.

He has been previously published in the Wall Street Journal, Newsday, the Boston Globe, the San Francisco Chronicle and lonelyplanet.com, among other places. He graduated from Swarthmore College and from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and also spent three years volunteering working in rural war-torn towns in the former Yugoslavia.

A communications consultant, Hegedus has spent more than 18 months on paid paternity leave since 2008. He lives in Stockholm with his wife and two small children.
