Nicci Stein

Nicci Stein was born and raised in South Africa and moved to Canada in 1999. She has a background in Social Work and has worked in the non-profit sector since 1983. Nicci was active in the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa and has always worked within a human rights framework to address issues of marginalization and discrimination. She has worked with homeless children and youth, children with disabilities, lesbian, gay and trans communities, sex workers and people living with HIV. Nicci has worked in the field of HIV and AIDS since 1993. Nicci worked at The 519 Church Street Community Centre in Toronto for nine years before taking up the position of Executive Director of the Interagency Coalition on AIDS and Development (ICAD) in May 2009.
