Pamela S. Hyde, J.D., was nominated by President Barack Obama and confirmed by the U.S. Senate in November 2009 as Administrator of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), a public health agency within the Department of Health and Human Services. As the Administrator of SAMHSA, she leads the agency in achieving its mission to reduce the impact of substance abuse and mental illness on America’s communities.
