Program Director, Turnaround For Children

Paula L White works in New York City as a Program Director for Turnaround For Children, a nonprofit organization that partners with high-poverty, low-performing public schools. There, she supports principals and leads a team of instructional coaches and social work consultants working in a portfolio of schools to improve academic and socio-emotional outcomes for children. Ms. White is the Founder & former Head of School of Newark Legacy Charter School, a high-performing K-8 college-preparatory school located in the South Ward section of Newark, New Jersey. A former Teacher of the Year, and past Fellow with Building Excellent Schools, Ms. White holds a B.A. in Child Development from Spelman College, and a Masters degree. in Educational Leadership from Columbia University.
